Four people, not forty
A first meetup with twelve people isn't a meetup, it's an event
where nobody talks to anyone. Four seats is the default.
The place belongs to those who said yes
What kind of place and which neighbourhood: you see that right away.
The exact address comes 24 hours before, and only if you're in.
No chat that replaces the meetup
Beforehand there are building blocks instead of free text: “Running 10 minutes late”,
“I'm sitting at the back on the left”. Enough to find each other. The rest happens at the table.
Suggestions, not a card stack
No swiping, no rating profiles. You get concrete meetups:
have a look, say yes or move on.
Neighbourhood, never an address
We store the area you live in, picked from a list.
No coordinates, no live location, no map you show up on.
Leaving is allowed. So is staying.
If you get along, you swap numbers and carry on wherever you like,
here or elsewhere. TableMates measures itself by good evenings, not by
minutes spent in the app.
